Morning dears.
I have some bad news. My mom lost her job. My father is unemployed as well. So. Now I am the only person in the house with a job. To be honest, even though my dad is going to be getting his retirement soon, I feel scared. I'm not sure what this means for my future. But I'm going to have to bust my ass in school to keep my 4.0 GPA and start looking for scholarships.

On the bright side, I have that lovely boy of mine who helps me take my mind off of all that. Speaking of him, I kind of stole a picture of us from his facebook album. And since we're just so darned cute, I figured I'd share since so many of you ask about the mysterious guy I'm always talking about.

Its not the greatest pictures of me (After-work me is none so photogenic) But isn't he adorable? This is us, at the aquarium on Friday. <3

Today's another day off work (yippee) so I have no idea what to do with myself. But since I have the whole day - I think I may perform a few cooking experiments. If I come up with anything note-worthy, I'll post it up later. Otherwise, I just wanted to let you guys know what was up.

  1. Hey there Tori - sorry to hear about your mom - im sure things will work out - I just want to say how much i admire your positivity even when things gets rough - despite the tough times you still manage to not only get great grades , have a busy work schedule PLUS continue to be in recovery from your Ed - simply amazing and very inspirational to all of your readers - hope everything works out!!!
looking forward to your new recipes that you are trying out today!!!
    xoxo aimee

  2. Oh and by the way - i forgot to mention what great pictures of you and the boy - i was wondering what he looked like - and he's cute too!!!!
    lol - aim

  3. your boy friend is so adorable, you to together is a perfect match! and i am a witness in real life of the cuteness! ;)
I am so sorry about the financial burdens lately lovie, i can relate a bit, my mom is on unemployment for a while now, though she gets child support money my Dad doesn't help enough, so money is always a big stress-er most of the time, mainly when i was little and my mom had no car, and it was just a mess when growing up when my parents first divorced.
But that is SO amazing that you have such a great GPA! :D wow! A scholarship, i think so! :D and a wonderful support, and you look so adorable and gorgeous in these pics!

Thanks for the comment on my blog lovie, your amazing, and always give me such a reality check. your so right bout everything though, and i always take everything to the heart that you say!

love you! and have a great day cooking :) Sounds like fun!

  4. Hey Tori: DO NOT stress about your mom. When it comes to unemployment, there's always a way to get by. I'm sure there will be some sort of government assistance available, and a lower household income has to boost your federal financial aid money. Be sure to let your school know if you already applied for aid for this coming year...hopefully they will adjust your awards given the new circumstances.

And I'm thrilled that you finally posted some pictures of the boy. He is gorgeous. And you just happen to look beautiful together, like you match haha. Your haircut is so cute too!

Stay strong and don't see these new obstacles as setbacks...getting through these challenges will only prove how strong you've become, and I'm sure your parents will be proud of how well you can handle the news!

  5. tori!guess what?! i got my haircut! ahhh its just like urs:-) at first i freaked out, but now it like it alot!!!! i needed a change! lovely pics....ur boy is cute!

  7. I am so sorry to hear about your mom Torri :( My dad lost his job right before Christmas and I know it is tough. But just remember that everything happens for a reason and things will work out, even when you can't see how.

    Praying for you,

  8. oy :[ my mom recently lost her job too. its tough, but hang in there. things will work out.

  9. Hang in there, Tori. Things can only get better!!!! So sorry to hear about your situation...you're in my prayers!

  11. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! Keep going one step at a time. I am glad you have support, and know that I am rooting for you! My dad lost his job too, and I worry SO much about him and my family.

  14. New commenter here -- been reading your blog for a while but now seems like a great time to say: best of wishes for you! Hopefully your situation improves A.S.A.P. Don't stress yourself out too much but best of luck maintaining that unbelievable GPA (maybe I should say "best of strength/willpower/knowledge" instead of "luck" though?!).
